After the anticipation of a new android upgrade, Google has finally announced Android 4.1 Jellybean. It looks promising. Here are 5 features we're excited about:
Like your device can read your mind. By collecting data about yourself, it can know what time you go to work daily, where you like to eat, your favorite basketball team, and more. It's actually quite impressive.
If you are on a bus stand, it will tell you when the bus will arrive. If you have a meeting in a certain place, it will show you directions. When you experience traffic going to work, it can give you a new set of directions. My personal favorite, when you are in restaurant, it can tell you what food the restaurant is best known for.
Google is great when coming to notifications, and they are just getting better. You can now collapse of expand a notification by a pinch. You can answer back a miss call, look at your Gmail, share or plus a photo shared by Google+, and, using two fingers to swipe down, you can expand certain notifications for further info. You can also email someone if you are running late for an appointment with a few chosen sets of words (looking at IOS 6 phone feature).
Google is best known for its search engine. It gets better with knowledge graph. It understands what you search, and connects the information. Let’s say search for renaissance painters, and it knows what it is, and gives you Leonardo, Picasso, etc. Google collects what other users are searching for, and if it is interesting it will be out to its data base. Smart.
By shrinking the voice transcription software so it fits inside the device, voice dictation no longer needs a connection to know what you say and translate it into words. The new Jelly Bean keyboard also lets you get started by typing a word or two, and then based on what you’ve said; Android makes a few educated guesses on what your next word will be and offers them up as options before you’ve even started typing the next few words.
The previous android has android beam, but it wasn't all that good, it winded up being more limited than Samsung's S beam. But in jelly bean it better. Just by tapping your phones together, you can share photos and videos, and connect to other NFC enabled device, like a speaker or headphone.
What's your favorite feature? Tell us in the comments below. (Samuel Vedrik - Kontributor Bhinneka Post)
