The new Mac Pro. With up to 12 cores of processing power, it's the fastest Mac ever.The new Mac Pro delivers more processing power, more graphics performance, and more storage options. Its the worlds newest superpower.

Expansion made easy.
- The easy-access interior of the Mac Pro feels like the well-organized workstation it is. No rats nest of components here. You dont need to turn the system on its side or struggle to reach into awkward spaces to make changes. Just remove the side panel for instant access to everything. Slide out the processor tray to add memory. Slide out drive bays to add storage. Slide a simple bar to change up to four expansion cards at once. And with plenty of I/O ports both front and back, youll have room for all your external devices.
Tool-less PCI.
- When its time to upgrade, a quick slide of the retention bar frees up the four expansion card slots for easy access. Thanks to a thumbscrew PCI bracket, you can swap out cards without any tools. All four slots are PCI Express 2.0 for incredible performance. And since the graphics slot in the Mac Pro is double-wide, your graphics card wont cover an adjacent slot.
Slide-in storage.
- The Mac Pro comes with four 3.5-inch drive bays for an enormous amount of internal storage - up to 8TB. For faster access to your data, you can also configure your Mac Pro with up to four solid-state drives. The bays are direct-attach and cable free, so its easy to add or remove drives. Just attach the drive carrier to a drive and slide the drive into place. There are no connectors or cables to contend with. Lock the drives with the side door latch, and youre done.
Snap-in memory.
- Install more memory in your Mac Pro in a snap. Literally. The easy-access interior lets you slide out the processor tray in one smooth motion, then simply snap new memory into place. You dont have to dig around inside the computer or wrestle with wires or cables. The single-processor Mac Pro offers four slots that support up to 16GB of DDR3 ECC SDRAM, while the dual-processor Mac Pro offers eight slots that support up to 32GB.
Front and back I/O.
- There are plenty of places to connect external devices to your Mac Pro. Youll find two FireWire 800 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and a headphone minijack right up front - where its more convenient to connect storage, multimedia devices, and high-speed peripherals.
- And there are even more ports on the back: three USB 2.0, two FireWire 800, optical audio in and out, analog audio in and out, and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The single-die advantage.
- Many multicore processors are composed of two separate dies, which means some cached data has to travel outside the processor to get from core to core. Thats an inefficient way to access information. Enter the Quad-Core and 6-Core Intel Xeon processors. Their single-die, 64-bit architecture makes 8MB or 12MB of fully shared L3 cache readily available to each of the processor cores. The result is fast access to cache data and greater application performance. Combine that with the other technological advances and you get a Mac Pro thats up to 1.5x faster than the previous generation.
Up to 24 virtual cores.
- The Intel Xeon processors support Hyper-Threading, which allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core. So, for example, a 12-core Mac Pro presents 24 virtual cores that are recognized by Mac OS X. Performance is enhanced because Hyper-Threading enables the processor to take better advantage of the execution resources available in each core.
Even faster standard graphics.
- All-new high-performance graphics cards from AMD make Mac Pro graphics technology faster than ever before. Perfect for motion graphics, 3D modeling, rendering, or animation, the ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB of GDDR5 memory comes standard. It not only provides faster performance compared to previous Mac Pro standard graphics cards - its also faster than the top-of-the-line graphics cards in the previous generation.
Double-layer burner times two.
- Sure its great to have one 18x SuperDrive at your disposal, but think how much more productive you could be if you add a second optional SuperDrive. Imagine backing up your data to two double-layer DVDs at once. Or burning Aperture projects to one DVD, while importing music from a CD into your iTunes library. With two optical drive bays in every system, the Mac Pro lets you do exactly that.

Ga wajar
dengan VGA card yang harganya hanya 1,5jt saya kira harganya terlalu mahal. karna jujur aja untuk yang mengerti detail harga Hardwarenya, MacPro hanya sebanding dengan pc yang berharga 7-8jt. Rendering Video pun lama, karna VGAnya tidak cukup bagus. mengingat VGA yang di gunakan adalah VGA "everyday multimedia". seharusnya kalo ingin kerja maximal VGA yang di gunakan minimal serial Quadro FX Orang hanya jenuh dengan User Interface Windows dan orang2 mostly hanya membeli untuk ke "gaya" bukan ke fungsi. Mac dan PC jg sama2 kena virus (contohnya udah ada antivirus untuk Mac dr Kaspersky, Norton etc) Software yang digunakan pun sama, Adobe Photoshop dan after effect. paling beda di Maya sama Finalcut Pro. tp PC juga punya 3Dmax dan Sony Vegas Pro. fungsinya sama aja. kalo beneran untuk kerja mending fikir2 dulu. masa beli komputer harga 36jt hanya utk main game graphic rendah kaya NFS hot persuit? bukanya ngejelekin, tapi be smart sebelum membeli barang.

Luar biasa, belum pernah melihat pc sehebat ini. Processornya sangat cepat sekali. Sayang, tidak memakai blue-ray. MacBook ini cocok sekali bagi para gamer seperti saya. Saya memainkan NFS Hot Pursuit 3 sangat lancar sekali dengan MacBook ini. Sayang sekali harganya rada kemahalan.

Performa dan kompabilitas!
Menurut saya harga memang cukup mahal tapi kalo ada komen di atas yang bilang orang pake ini hanya untuk "gaya" menurut saya salah besar. Di kantor saya (advertising) semua desktop memakai MAC based computer dan diperlukan desktop untuk Finalisasi file2 photoshop ataupun mulitmedia lainnya yang besarannya gigabyte dan tentunya macpro pilihannya karena banyak perusahaan yang butuh kerja cepat dan gak repot virus juga karena alasan kompabilitas dengan desktop apple yang lain. memang ada virus untuk mac tapi jumlahnya sangat2 kecil dIbanding virus untuk PC. pernah agan pake mac tiba2 ada warning "virus"? bagaimana dengan PC? :) Selain itu kalo alesan "gaya" yang dimaksud apa bener orang beli MacPRO untuk "gaya"? emang bisa macPRO dibawa2 ke kafe? kalo untuk ke kafe ya mending beli macbook pro / air toh? kalo untuk di rumah jelas iMAC jauh lebih gaya dan stylish dibanding macpro, so i think people consider to buy it because of its great performance and compatibility to other apple based hardware. Apple is the best
MAC Pro hanya untuk orang yang membutuhkan dan mengerti barang , brg apple bukan hanya mengutamakan gengsi , bagi yang ngerti maka merasa harganya pantas , bagi yang ngk ngerti ? separuh harga juga ngk pantas ....wong namanya juga ngk ngerti . Kalo kerjaan saya gk pake MAC pake Windows juga bisa kok ....cuman REPOOOTTTTT dan RIBEEET Apple itu Simple ... Stabil ... dan Powerfull .

Speknya Server bukan PC
Speck Desktop MacPro (bukan MacBook Pro), adalah sewajarnya disetarakan dengan spek Server Dual Xeon QuadCore, yang mempunyai PCI-E slot 16X (kebanyakan hanya 8X, kalopun ada yang 16X mahal), dan bundle penjualannya pun sudah termasuk OS, berikut Keyboard dan magic mouse... Saya pernah mencoba menghitung biaya merakit server yang setara dengan spek Mac Pro ini harganya jadi jauh lebih mahal. (ingin diinstal dengan Hackintosh) Kenapa jadi jauh lebih mahal karena beda harga hanya sedikit saja dan Casing PC belum ada yang setara dengan casing MacPro ini. dan Belum termasuk harga OS dan biaya jasa install OS. VGA HD 5770 1GB ini sudah jauh lebih cukup di MacPro... Sudah cukup baik untuk 3D rendering dengan Cinema4D, Tinggal Gandakan saja Kapasitas RAM-nya. Bermain game dengan CIVILIZATION V pun sangat mumpuni saat PC sudah mulai lama Loadingnya... karena kewalahan. Kualitas grafisnya sangat bagus. Check harga saja dulu bandingkan dengan vendor lain... ditambah dengan Apple Display, Nonton film jadi lebih nyaman... Video rendering sangat cepat terlebih untuk converting video multiplatform.

setuju berat ama komen diatas ane, menurut ane sih ini cumang jual brand aja, kalo rakit spec disamain ama ni barang dapet lebih murah, bahkan dengan harga barang ini dapet kompi dewo banget dengan spek yang lebih bagus dari pada ginian

GREAT PERFORMANCE
Baca sebagian review-review di atas yang menganggap produk ini kemahalan, ya wajar kalo cuma dipake buat gaya & ngegame doang. Di tempat kerjaan ane (percetakan), bagian desain semua pake Mac (generasi sebelum ini)..semua kerjaan desain beres, cepet & ndak pernah ada trouble + bebas virus. Pernah nyoba bikin kompie rakitan buat nandingin si Mac, kita pake part-part yang branded & mahal. Cuma bagus di awal doang, makin kesini kompi rakitan banyak trouble dan akhirnya R.I.P. Barusan diskusi bareng ama personel desain, kompi rakitan mau diganti ama Mac baru. Semoga aja tipe ini yang dibeli. Kata orang jawa ONO REGO ONO RUPO, harga nggak bakalan bo'ong

perbandingan yg gak wajar dengan PC
IMHO Mac Pro ini adalah seri premium desktop dari apple, dan speknya memang setara server, bisa dilihat dari procie yang digunakan. memang jika melihat dari spesifikasi lainnya seolah sama dengan desktop biasa, dan jelas gak bisa disamakan dengan PC RAKITAN. coba saja anda lihat dan review bedanya antara PC BRANDED dan RAKITAN, dengan harga yang sama kita (seolah) bisa dapat lebih dengan MERAKIT sendiri. Buat yang benar-benar mengerti hardware, pilihan untuk merakit memang tepat, karena dapat membuat komposisi hardware yang tepat untuk dijadikan sebuah workstation. sebuah PC BRANDED sudah diatur sedemikian rupa oleh vendor agar optimal dalam komposisi hardwarenya (terutama motherboardnya, karena PC BRANDED jarang yang menggunakan motherboard yang ada di pasaran). Nah jelas bahwa Mac Pro ini (hanya) bisa disejajarkan dengan PC BRANDED atau malah kelas SERVER. jika benar - benar dirinci per hardware (prosesor,motherboard,memory,vga,hdd,optical drive,casing,psu,dan aksesorisnya), harganya saya rasa cukup pantas (belum lagi dengan preinstall OS nya). Komponen/hardware mac memang terkenal lebih mahal jika dibandingkan dengan hardware PC biasa, karena sudah dioptimalisasi untuk mac OS. jadi saya rasa kurang bijak jika membanding - bandingkan antara hadware mac dan PC (walau prosesor dan tipe memory yang digunakan sekarang sudah sama dengan PC), semuanya kembali lagi ke kebutuhan anda sendiri.
